Subject: Earthen Glow Beauty. We look forward to hearing from you. | Rulan Tangen Beauty of the Month Oki ! (That’s Blackfoot; a traditional Native American greeting). My name is Rulan Tangen, I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA and I am honored to be selected as “Beauty of the Month", because my view of beauty encompasses diversity: all ages, sizes and colors (yes that means YOU) I am the Artistic Director and Choreographer for "DANCING EARTH" – Indigenous Contemporary Dance Creations. We are a dance ensemble with invitations from Alaska to Brazil to create innovative dance performances rooted in our ancient Native philosophies, and also teach workshops for many Native youth. Our dances highlight the relationship between human and the earth, and as a cancer survivor I am very committed to making choices that are healthy for myself and for the environment. Earthen Glow mineral makeup is ideal for my personal needs and for my dance group, as it allows us to incorporate dramatic theatrical colors that are still based in nature, like our dances. As I develop our work, I am trying to find ways to bring better awareness of our environmental resources by using recycled fabric, solar lighting, and now mineral makeup! I am very excited to help design the new DANCING EARTH collection, inspired by the landscape, and our dances and culture. I wear the "Youthful Glow" foundation, and my favorite blushes are "Blushed" and "Red Rock" – hard to pick because I have so many! For all my dancers I use the highlighters such as "Tahitian Sunset" and "Belize Glow" to bring out their bone structure and skin tone for photos and stage. Meanwhile at every performance we experiment with eye shadows such as "Aztec", "Center stage" to create exotic looks. I hope you can try many EG Mineral products, which suit the many skin tones in our dance group and will definitely be beautiful on so many women; lets all spread a message of inner and outer beauty and beauty of our earth! Here is a link to a short film by Dene (Navajo) filmmaker Larry Blackhorse Lowe which shows some of our dancers in action, with dances about the courtship of the Sun and Moon, a wild plant, and a young man surrounded by a thunderstorm of ancestors http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGpa_Omq13Y With a dancing spirit, Rulan http://www.dancingearth.org/
